Assessment 02

Are your AI investments producing measurable value?

3CEVD™ AI Capital & Return Assessment

AI cost, contribution, capacity, continuity, and dependency visibility

A structured examination of what organizational AI is costing, producing, changing, and depending upon so leaders can make more informed decisions about continued use, correction, expansion, or restraint.

Scope, availability, timing, and fee are confirmed individually.

Why the question matters

More tools, more activity, or time reportedly saved do not by themselves establish a return. A useful decision needs a view of costs, outcomes, evidence, and the new dependencies AI creates.

What is examined

  • AI tools, uses, owners, vendors, contracts, and operating dependencies
  • Direct and indirect cash costs
  • Cash Return, Capacity Return, and Continuity Return as distinct lines of inquiry
  • Workflow, role, skill, workload, and decision changes associated with AI use
  • Evidence, attribution, counterfactual uncertainty, and unrecognized costs
  • Concentration, lock-in, security, continuity, governance, and human-authority exposure

What you receive

  • AI capital and use visibility map
  • Cost and return evidence record
  • Cash, capacity, and continuity return observations kept distinct
  • Attribution gaps, dependencies, risks, and unresolved questions
  • Decision priorities and evidence requirements for the next decision

Who it is for

  • Leaders responsible for AI spending, operating performance, or technology governance
  • Organizations with multiple AI tools but incomplete cost, use, ownership, or outcome visibility
  • Teams considering whether an AI investment should continue, change, expand, or stop

What happens next

First, describe your question in an enquiry. We confirm fit, scope, availability, timing, fees, and evidence handling before work begins. Within an accepted assessment:

  1. 01
    Establish scope

Identify the AI systems, uses, decisions, return questions, time period, and evidence boundaries to be examined.

  2. 02
    Build the evidence record

Connect costs, uses, outcomes, changes, dependencies, and participant statements to the records currently available.

  3. 03
    Examine return dimensions

Consider cash, capacity, and continuity separately so one favorable signal does not obscure another material cost or exposure.

  4. 04
    Test attribution and dependency

Keep observed change, claimed contribution, assumptions, missing counterfactuals, and vendor or operating dependencies visible.

  5. 05
    Prepare decision visibility

Organize evidence-supported findings, unresolved questions, priorities, and preconditions for accountable human review.

Information you contribute after scope is agreed

  • AI inventory, stated purposes, owners, users, and approved-use boundaries
  • Vendor bills, contracts, licenses, implementation costs, and relevant staff time
  • Usage records, workflow descriptions, output evidence, incidents, exceptions, and review records
  • Relevant financial, operational, capacity, continuity, and dependency information

What it cannot establish

  • Return language does not establish accounting ROI, investment performance, enterprise value, or guaranteed savings.
  • The assessment is not a financial audit, investment recommendation, legal opinion, security certification, or regulatory determination.
  • Return concepts and the supporting methodology remain under development and must be interpreted within the evidence and scope available.
GUARDIAN™ assessments · 3CEVD™ decision discipline

Software supports the work. People retain authority.

Software support

Within a GUARDIAN assessment governed by 3CEVD, the system can structure the inventory, questions, evidence links, dependencies, exceptions, and review record. It does not decide whether an AI system is safe, compliant, financially successful, or authorized for use.

Human judgment and authority

Authorized people establish scope, interpret evidence, resolve material questions, control release, and decide whether an AI use should continue, change, expand, pause, or stop.

Results are assessment findings bounded by the information, records, time period, participants, and method state used. They are not predictive or universally reproducible claims.
